Pelosi, Mnuchin had productive talks on coronavirus relief: Pelosi spokesman

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin had a productive discussion on coronavirus relief proposals on Wednesday, but a lack of a national strategic testing plan from the administration continues to be a “major area of disagreement,” a spokesman for Pelosi said.

“In response to proposals sent over the weekend, the two spent time seeking clarification on language, which was productive,” Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said on Twitter, saying the two spoke for about an hour.

He said staff would continue to “exchange paper” and that Pelosi and Mnuchin would speak again on Thursday.
