Nigel Farage and Amber Rudd CLASH on BBC QT – ‘Stop lying to people we want to LEAVE’
The Brexit party leader hit out at the Work and Pensions Secretary for not delivering the referendum. Their argument was sparked by an audience member questioning whether Labour and the Conservatives should be worried about the Brexit Party. Ms Rudd quickly hit out at the party for being “wrong”.
Ms Rudd said: “The Brexit Party is about one thing just as Ukip was about one thing and they have one thing.
“To every complex question there is a simple, straightforward and wrong answer.”
Mr Farage interrupted her point and told her to deliver on the referendum.
He said: “No it’s not complex. Deliver on the referendum, Amber. Stop lying to people. Stop conning people. We want to leave. That’s what we voted for.
Ms Rudd said: “This is exactly the sort of language that is designed to deceive people. You pretend these things are simple Nigel but you know they’re not.
“The reason why we are travelling over it to find the right outcome is because we believe we have to make sure we look after the jobs and the economy.”
But the former Ukip leader interrupted her and said: “Let’s just leave, isn’t easy, isn’t it?”
The former Home Secretary went on to say: “Grown-up politics that we’re about to deliver on in parliament.
“It is about not throwing your toys out of the pram, not running away from things, not leaving after the Brexit vote for three years and then just reappearing to invent a new party. “
She gestured at Mr Farage while making her point.
Mr Farage interjected: “You said you would deliver it.
“You lied to us. That’s why I’m back.”
