Iain Dale exposes Labour’s ‘ludicrous’ Brexit plan and ‘REAL reason’ for swerving election
As Geraint Davies described how he wanted Boris Johnson’s deal to be put to a people’s vote, Iain Dale said: “It’s funny though because that isn’t actually Labour policy is it?” To which Mr Davies replied: “I think you’ll find that is what emerges.”
The LBC host said: “Well it isn’t at the moment is it?”
To which the Labour MP replied: “No, at the moment what we are saying is get no deal off the table.”
Mr Dale responded: “That will happen on the 1st of November.”
Mr Davies then argued: “Well not really because if we were to go ahead with Boris’ deal in a year’s time there could be a situation where there is a no deal again.”
Iain Dale then said: “So you want to extend it for a year, that’s two cats you’ve let out the bag!
“So you actually want to not have any election until after December 2020.
“I’m sure Labour voters will think that’s a marvellous idea keeping the Conservatives in power.”
The first cat that Geraint Davies let out the bag was earlier in the interview when he was asked why Labour did not want a general election.
He said: “The situation is as you well know is that Boris now hopes he can combine the Brexit and Tory vote with a vague let’s get Brexit done and he thinks the Remain vote will split between the Liberals and Labour and so on a very small minority he can get more MPs and ram through his Brexit.
“It would be completely irresponsible to just let him on some sort of you’re chicken, have a go if you think you’re hard enough like you’re suggesting.”
Iain Dale stated: “You’ve let the cat out of the bag there, haven’t you?
“The reason you don’t want a general election is because you know you can’t win it.”

The pair continued to argue with Mr Davies responding: “No the real reason we don’t want a general election is because we want to get Brexit done.”
The LBC host snapped back: “Your position is ludicrous and the electorate can see that it’s ludicrous.
“I doubt there is a single person listening to us talking who thinks you’re giving the real reason.
“The real reason is that you’re tanking in the polls, you will lose seats and you’ll lose the election and that’s why you don’t want one.”
