Alliance for Unity founder George Galloway informed listeners of his show, Mother Of All Talk Shows, that he would be voting Conservative in the upcoming Holyrood elections. He called on all voters to do the same to help maintain the unity of Scotland to the United Kingdom. He argued the votes the SNP would receive would improve their argument for another Scottish referendum.
To counter this, Mr Galloway insisted voters should lend their votes to SNP opposition parties.
Mr Galloway said: “Here is a declaration you never expected to hear from me.
“I will be voting Conservative in the elections in May on my constituency vote for the first time in my life.
“This is because my local MSP is a Conservative and the challenger to him is the SNP.”

Mr Galloway insisted that everyone in the upcoming election should oppose the SNP and their bid to win the election.
He claimed the SNP would continue to push for Scottish independence and this idea should be opposed.
He continued: “My view is that everyone should vote for the best-placed candidate standing against the SNP.
“This is because this is a one-off election, it is a referendum on a referendum.
George Galloway slams SNP's 'misgovernance' of Scotland
“It is an attempt to stop the neverendum.”
Mr Galloway has long remained critical of Nicola Sturgeon and her party.
In 2020 he founded his new party Alliance for Unity and has since called on citizens to utilise the party to defeat the SNP.
Nicola Sturgeon has already pledged the SNP will be running on a manifesto calling for independence and argued a new vote should be held soon after the election if her party were to secure an overall majority in Holyrood.

Regarding the upcoming election, Mr Galloway has said: “Vote for the best-placed candidate to defeat the SNP with your first vote.
“Give your second vote to the Alliance for Unity party.
“That way we maximise the number of people in this Scottish Parliament at Holyrood who wants to get Scotland off the hamster wheel.
“This is so we can attend to Scotland’s deep-seated economic, social and other problems.”
