Even Theresa May’s husband Philip ‘wants her to exit decently’
Even Theresa May's husband "wants her to exit" as pressure mounts on the embattled PM, it is reported today.
The claim comes as the Tory leader faces a fresh bid by her MPs to oust her over months of delays to Brexit .
MPs will meet once again this week to discuss scrapping rules that ban a leadership challenge before December.
Today saw fresh calls for the PM to go and polls showing a collapse in support to the Brexit Party – while MPs including Liz Truss set out their stall for the leadership.
Mrs May has promised to leave office, but only once MPs have passed a Withdrawal Agreement from the EU.
Now a friend of Mrs May's husband, Philip, has told the Sunday Times he now has his eye cast on her exit as well.
The friend said: "He loves her dearly, and he wants her to exit decently."
A minister told the newspaper: "He's had a bloody awful time.
"We all have tough times in politics and it's worse for our spouses, but it's a bagatelle by comparison to what he's been through."
Downing Street declined to comment.
