More and more Conservative MPs are now calling for the House of Commons to be given a vote before the Government can make any further changes to the fast-shifting coronavirus laws. Fear and confusion over rules has increased amid local specifications with even the Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologising for giving the incorrect advice for the North East. Tory MP Steve Baker, one of the backbenchers backing the rebellious Brady amendment, warned the BBC’s Today show that checks were needed or else there would be “chaos and ruin” in the country.
How well do YOU think Boris Johnson is handling the coronavirus crisis? Vote in our poll!
He told Radio 4: “When you get such a large and shifting body of law, you find that even ministers and the Prime Minister cannot keep up with it.

“I had one minister say to me, with terror in his eyes about the disease, that we might need to change the law every 24 hours.
“We can’t possibly expect 70 million people to keep up with law that changes every 24 hours. That would be chaos and ruin.”
