Shadow Secretary for Business and Energy, Ed Miliband was forced to replace Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer in PMQs due to a last-minute need to isolate . Once introduced to the House, Mr Miliband stood up to address Boris Johnson and was met with loud jeering from the opposition. While smiling Mr Miliband then joked that it was just like “the old days” in reference to his time as Labour leader.
He also joked that both sides of the House could be assured this would be a one-time affair.
He said: “I presume you will want to get on to the Budget because all you are doing is delaying it.”
Mr Miliband then rose again and joked he would be doing this one time only, resulting in laughter from both sides of the House.
This comes after reports that Sir Keir Starmer has tested positive for coronavirus.
