The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said “a small number of changes” would be made as he continues to shake up his team as part of an attempt to “reset” his premiership. Mr Rees-Mogg has left his job as Leader of the House of Commons to be appointed to a new role aimed at maximising the opportunities of Brexit.
Based in the Cabinet Office, the North East Somerset MP would be tasked with looking at which bureaucratic EU legislation can be torn up now Britain is free from the block in order to unleash the UK’s full potential on the world stage.
Now, Express.co.uk readers have urged the Prime Minister to let Mr Rees-Mogg “do his job”.
One Express.co.uk reader, Cyrilsneer, said: “Only good thing Boris has done since becoming PM.
“If he actually lets Jacob do his job and not treat him like Frost.”
A second person, LondonPride, added: “I am disappointed by his job title.
“Minister for Unicorns Prancing across Sunlit Uplands would have been more motivating.”
While JL77 commented: “Brilliant job Boris, you just got a lot of votes back.
“A Brexiteer and knows the meaning of. Ring patriotic. Nice one.”
AltSim wrote: “Seems the appointment of Rees-Mogg has brought out the Remainers in force trying to downplay it.
“That means it must be good.
“At last a true Brexiteer to deal with the Eurinal’s nonsense.”
While CR2 added: “Moggy is good for this job.
