The Liberal Democrats, who secured the debate are calling for a statutory public inquiry into Boris Johnson’s administration. The Prime Minister is also facing pressure as to how the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat was funded but he will not attend Monday’s debate despite some saying the Government needs to “get a grip” on the situation to rebuild public trust.

PM’s approval rating at lowest ever
Boris Johnson’s personal approval rating has fallen to its lowest ever level.
A poll has put the Prime Minister’s net approval rating at – 20 percent, down from -16 a week ago.
The findings are adding to fears among Governments that MPs accusations of corruption are cutting through with the public.
The survey also indicated a drop in support for the party as a whole with the Tories leading Labour by one percent.
