Boris Johnson almost drowned out by booing crowd as he makes desperate speech
Booing crowds threatened to drown out Boris Johnson's desperate Downing Street speech, as he made a last-ditch bid to convince MPs not to delay Brexit.
Protesters chanted "stop the coup" as the PM gave opposition MPs an ultimatum – urging them to back his plan to crash Britain out of the EU on October 31.
Moments earlier, opposition MPs confirmed details of their bid to force Boris Johnson to delay Brexit for another three months.
They will seek to take control of the Commons order paper at 3pm tomorrow.
If agreed by the Speaker, they will try to pass a law forcing the PM to delay the Brexit deadline for three months if a deal is not agreed by October 19.
That would mean the revised deadline would be January 31.
Labour MP Hilary Benn tweeted the text of the bill this afternoon.
But Mr Johnson said if MPs voted against the Government they would "chop the legs" out from under the UK's position in negotiating a deal with the EU.
He said: "I say, to show our friends in Brussels that we are united in our purpose, MPs should vote with the Government against Corbyn's pointless delay.
"I want everybody to know there are no circumstances in which I will ask Brussels to delay. We are leaving on October 31, no ifs or buts."
