Having begun with a terrorist attack in London and then leapt back a year to open up sometimes labyrinthine plotting, this series about a pair of London detectives (Paddy Considine's troubled veteran and Bel Powley's hardnosed newcomer) and the East Londoner arrested for drug possession they attempt to recruit as an informer (Nabhaan Rizwan) is starting to take shape. It is less about the murky realities of the security services and those they monitor than the complicated relationship between sides forced to collaborate. Everyone is using someone else, but no one knows whether it's truly for the greater good.
