Weezer Releases Two New Songs From Upcoming Album
Rock band Weezer has released two brand-new songs from their upcoming album.
Directed by Nathan Presley, the music video for “High As a Kite,” is a spoof of the 1960’s kids T.V show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” in which the whole band plays an ostensibly high-spirited song in front of a live audience of children and their parents, who seem to be having a good time at first.
Things take a turn for the worse as the parents start paying attention to the lyrics of the song, with lead vocalist Rivers Cuomo singing, “I’m drifting like a lost balloon/I’m out of reach, won’t be coming down/Any time soon” and “All I wanna do is blow my mind.”
Towards the very end of the song, the whole band begins to destroy the set as children start crying and appear traumatized by the whole incident.
The band has also released audio of the song “Living In L.A,” also taken from the album. Produced by Dave Sitek, The Black Album is scheduled for release on March 1.
