Warped Tour Founder Tried To Reunite My Chemical Romance

Vans Warped Tour founder and organizer Kevin Lyman revealed that he tried to reunite emo icons My Chemical Romance for the 25th anniversary edition of the tour, although his attempts inevitably failed.

“It would have been epic to have them. I remember the first time I saw them, they were traveling in a van. They played both Warped and Taste Of Chaos that year and every show was special,” Lyman said in a post on Twitter.

The band, which joined the Warped Tour in 2005, split in early 2013.

In an interview with The Guardian earlier this year, former frontman Gerard Way spoke about the possibility of an MCR reunion, saying “I think it will always be there for us if we want it, but it adds a layer of stress.”

“When something gets really big like that, it’s hard on you for many reasons, and it’s very stressful, so I wouldn’t want to disrupt anybody’s life right now,” he added.

Post MCR, Way has enjoyed the success of his comic book adaptation “The Umbrella Academy” on Netflix and has also released several solo tracks, including the mysterious tune, “Baby You’re A Haunted House” in October of 2018.
