Humana Reaffirms FY23 Earnings Guidance

Humana Inc. (HUM) reaffirmed its guidance of at least $27.88 in earnings per common share or at least $28.25 in adjusted earnings per common share, for fiscal 2023. The company said its guidance is consistent with the outlook issued on April 26, 2023 and reaffirmed on June 1, 2023.

Humana continues to expect the percentage of second quarter adjusted EPS, as compared to the full year adjusted EPS guidance, to be in the low thirties, consistent with the commentary provided on its first quarter earnings call.

The company reaffirmed its full year Insurance segment benefit expense ratio guidance of 86.3 to 87.3 percent, although now expects to be at the top end of this full year range. For the second quarter, with respect to Insurance segment benefit expense ratio, the company now believes actual results will be biased towards the top half of its full year range of 86.3 percent to 87.3 percent.

Allied Air Enterprises Recalls Armstrong Air And Air Ease Gas Furnaces

Allied Air Enterprises has recalled about 9,255 Armstrong Air and Air Ease gas furnaces due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, a component inside the furnace was improperly assembled, causing the furnace to produce high levels of carbon monoxide (CO) under certain operating conditions, which poses a risk of CO poisoning to the consumer.

The company has asked its customers to contact Allied Air Enterprises to schedule a free in-home repair by an authorized technician who will replace the incorrect component.

Allied Air Enterprises is contacting all known distributors directly, who will work with dealers to contact all known consumers who purchased the recalled units.

The recall involves the Armstrong and Airease brand names with the model numbers A96UH1E045B12S, A96UH1E070B12S, and/or A96UH1E110C20S.

The recalled furnaces were sold through authorized HVAC dealers nationwide from September 2022 through March 2023 for between $1,800 and $3,400.

Eneti Up 10% On Merging With Cadeler

Shares of Eneti Inc. (NETI) are up 10% on the Friday morning trade after it signed a business combination agreement with Cadeler A/S, to create a combined offshore wind turbine and foundation installation company.

NETI is trading on the New York Stock Exchange at $12.99, up 10.88% or $1.27 per share. It has traded between $5.13 and $13.43 in the past 52-week period.

The combined company will be named Cadeler with its shares to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange in addition to its current listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

After the exchange offer, Cadeler and Eneti shareholders will own approximately 60% and 40% of the combined company, respectively.

Pedestrian dead after vehicle crash in southeast Denver

A pedestrian is dead following a crash in southeast Denver.

Denver police on Friday were investigating what happened in the crash Thursday night near the 7100 Block of East Mississippi Avenue, according to a post on Twitter.

The identity of the victim wasn’t released. Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Expect delays in the area

 

Train derailment closes Brighton Boulevard in Commerce City

A minor train derailment north of Denver in Commerce City Friday morning forced the closure of Brighton Boulevard, authorities said.

Brighton Boulevard was closed between East 56th Avenue and East 60th Avenue, according to a Commerce City police post shortly before 8 a.m. on Twitter.

No estimates were given for the time of reopening.

 

Squarespace Gains 7% On Purchase Agreement With Google For Domains

Squarespace, Inc. (SQSP) shares are progressing more than 7 percent on Friday morning trade after it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement with Google to acquire the assets associated with the Google Domains business. As per the agreement, Squarespace will purchase approximately 10 million domains hosted on Google Domains spread across millions of customers.

Currently, shares are at $33.74, up 7.49 percent from the previous close of $31.39 on a volume of 671.278.

Virgin Galactic Rockets 32% After Announcing Schedule Of Its Commercial Spaceflights

Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc. (SPCE) shares are gaining more than 32 percent on Friday morning trade after the company announced yesterday that its first commercial spaceflight Galactic 01 will fly between June 27 and June 30 and the second one Galactic 02 will fly in early August 2023. Thereafter, the company expects spaceflights on a monthly basis.

The first commercial spaceflight will carry three crew members from the Italian Air Force and the National Research Council of Italy to try microgravity research.

Currently, shares are at $5.27, up 32.88 percent from the previous close of $4.06 on a volume of 38,442,862.

Cabot Slips On Decline In Demand, Tepid Outlook

Shares of Cabot Corp. (CBT) are sliding more than 10 percent after announcing that its sales volumes in Performance Chemicals segment for April and May 2023 were 13 percent lower than the prior year. Further, in the Reinforcement Material segment volumes for April and May were down 8 percent compared to the previous year.

The company also added that it is no longer expecting adjusted earnings per share for fiscal 2023 to be in the range of $6.10 to $6.50, as expected previously on May 8, 2023.

Currently, shares are at $67.00, down 10.21 percent from the previous close of $74.62 on a volume of 352,116.

Virgin Galactic To Launch Maiden Commercial Space Flight This Month-end

Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc. has announced that it will launch its first commercial space flight later this month.

Virgin Galactic plans to kick start its commercial space line operations on June 27. The four-day maiden commercial spaceflight is titled ‘Galactic 01’. The second commercial spaceflight, ‘Galactic 02,’ is planned to fly during early August.

It will be followed by monthly spaceflights by Sir Richard Branson’s space tourism company.

Galactic 01 will be a scientific research mission. The three-member crew from the Italian Air Force and the National Research Council of Italy will conduct microgravity research.

Virgin Galactic is an aerospace and space travel company, pioneering human spaceflight for private individuals and researchers with its advanced air and space vehicles.

Virgin Galactic’s spaceflight system is gearing up for its debut voyage after confronting a series of accidents and technical glitches.

In May, Virgin Galactic mission specialists Jamila Gilbert, Christopher Huie, and Luke Mays successfully completed its Unity 25 mission to space to evaluate the end-to-end astronaut training and spaceflight experience.

Billed as the vehicle’s final test flight, the Virgin Galactic’s rocket plane climbed high over the New Mexico desert to the outer space before flying back down.

More than 800 people have booked tickets to fly aboard the spaceflight for a distance of 80 kilometers above Earth at a cost of $450,000.
