Trump says he supports measure to make Mueller report public
President Trump gave House Republicans the green light to vote for the public release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report, he tweeted Saturday — while dismissing the Democratic measure as a “game” that “doesn’t matter.”
“On the recent non-binding vote (420-0) in Congress about releasing the Mueller Report, I told leadership to let all Republicans vote for transparency,” he posted at 12:06 p.m. “Makes us all look good and doesn’t matter. Play along with the game!”
The resolution passed the House on Thursday but was blocked in the Senate by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina).
Trump’s apparent support of the report’s release came in contrast to an angry series of tweets he posted Friday that blasted both Mueller and his report, which is expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
“The Special Counsel should never have been appointed and there should be no Mueller Report,” Trump wrote. “This was an illegal & conflicted investigation in search of a crime.”
