Mickey Gilley, Country Star Whose Texas Club Was Backdrop for ‘Urban Cowboy,’ Dies at 86

Mickey Gilley, the country singer-songwriter who crossed over into mainstream pop culture after his club was featured as the backdrop of 1980’s “Urban Cowboy,” died in Branson, Mo. on Saturday. He was 86 years old.

News of Gilley’s death was confirmed by his management at 117 Entertainment Group. The musician had recently completed a road tour, performing in ten shows through April.

Jack Kehler, Character Actor in ‘The Man in the High Castle’ and ‘The Big Lebowski’, Dies at 75

Jack Kehler, a prolific character actor, died Saturday from complications due to leukemia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. He was 75 years old.

Born May 22, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pa., Kehler set his career off in acting by studying with Sanford Meisner and Wynn Handman, serving as a lifetime member of the Actors Studio.

Kehler is survived by his wife, Shawn Casey; his son, Eddie Kehler; his daughter-in-law, Mari-Anne; and his grandson, Liam.

Johanna Fuentes to Exit as Warner Bros. Communications Chief

Johanna Fuentes is about to exit her post as head of global communications for Warner Bros., another high-level executive change spurred by the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger.

Fuentes joined the studio in 2020 as executive vice president of worldwide communications after a long tenure in communications at Showtime. She is expected to remain at Warner Bros. for about another month to help with the post-merger transition.
