Stunning video shows the birth of Hudson Yards
A breathtaking new time-lapse video shows the epic Hudson Yards megadevelopment sprouting — over a six-year period — on the Far West Side.
The stunning cinema-quality footage, shot from high above the 28-acre project between December 2012 and March 2019, shows the project grow from cinder blocks to gleaming new buildings.
More than 3 million photographs and 500,000 hours of imagery were shot by the New Jersey-based web camera company EarthCam, including ultra-widescreen panoramic views of the Manhattan cityscape, according to a spokeswoman for the project.
The $25 billion megadevelopment opens Friday, complete with luxury high-rises, high-end offices and a striking hive-like installation.
It’s the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States.
