Man who allegedly groped 82-year-old woman busted by cops

A man who allegedly sexually assaulted an 82-year-old woman inside her Lower East Side apartment was busted by cops on Friday, authorities said.

The suspect, 29-year-old David Alexander of the Bronx, allegedly broke into the woman’s apartment in the Rutgers Houses through an open door at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, cops said.

He then grabbed her by the neck, groped her breasts and started to touch himself, police said.

Cops busted Alexander Friday and slapped him with assault, burglary, sex abuse and criminal obstruction of breathing charges, authorities said.

It’s now been seven days since The New York Times corrected — er, retracted — its attack against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Turns out the “new allegation” isn’t supported by the victim, a fact conveniently left out of the story.

Cyclist killed in Queens amid rash of NYC bike deaths

A cyclist was hit and killed by a truck in Queens Saturday, cops said, bringing the number of bike deaths this year up to 21 — more than double the number killed in all of 2018.

The crash happened around 1:55 p.m. at Borden Avenue and 11th St. in Long Island City, at a major intersection near the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.

The cyclist, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver also remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Gen. Chen visits Chinatown to talk medals for Chinese-American vets

Retired Major Gen. William S. Chen visited an American Legion post in Chinatown Saturday to discuss the Chinese-American World War II Veteran Congressional Gold Medal.

Chen, the first Chinese-American two-star general, discussed the lobbying effort to pass the bill authorizing the medal and the nominating process for it at the Chinese American Citizens Alliance of Greater NY and the American Legion Lt. B.R. Kimlau Chinese Memorial Post 1291.

About 20,000 Chinese-Americans veterans fought in the war.

Man found alive on roof after jumping from adjacent building

A 26-year-old man was in critical condition after he was found on a Lower East Side roof — after apparently falling or jumping from an adjacent building Saturday morning, police said.

The man was found by neighbors who heard him moaning on the roof at 161 Stanton St., witnesses said.

“His face was covered in blood,” said one witness.

The man lives at an adjacent building on Clinton Street, police said.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
