Movie producer to host intimate Hamptons event with Kamala Harris
Producer Jamie Patricof and wife Kelly are hosting “an intimate conversation” with Sen. Kamala Harris over coffee and donuts at their Hamptons home Aug. 18.
“We are fortunate to have known Kamala for many years and would love for you to have the opportunity to meet her,” Jamie wrote in an email to friends of the morning fundraiser, where tickets go for up to $2,800.
We reported that the Democratic presidential hopeful is also appearing at a Water Mill event the same day.

Reds trade for Trevor Bauer in MLB trade deadline stunner
If the Yankees were hoping to land Trevor Bauer, they lost their chance.
The controversial Cleveland Indians right-hander was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night, part of a three-team deal with the San Diego Padres, according to ESPN.com.
Cincinnati is sending Yasiel Puig to Cleveland, while Padres’ left-hander Logan Allen is also Indians-bound.
Bauer was fined by Major League Baseball earlier in the day for heaving a ball from the pitcher’s mound over the center-field wall at Kansas City last weekend.

Crete earthquake – Greek holiday island rocked by '5.3 magnitude tremor' waking terrified Brit holidaymakers
A 5.3-MAGNITUDE earthquake has struck Crete this morning.
The Greek holiday island was shaken by the tremor about 8am local time.
Locals shared their shock online, with one writing: "Earthquake in Crete. We’re 40 miles from epicentre. Shook villa for 4-5 seconds."
Another added: "Getting woken up by an earthquake in Crete. Could of started the day abit better than that tbh".
It is unclear if anyone was injured.

Cops searching for 18-year-old swimmer who went missing off the Rockaways
Cops were searching for an 18-year-old male who went missing while swimming off the Rockaways in Queens on Tuesday night.
Police responded to a call of two distressed swimmers off the shoreline near Beach 61st Street and Boardwalk at around 8 p.m.
A 14-year-old male was recovered from the water and transferred to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in stable condition.
Another swimmer, who is 18-years-old, was not located on Tuesday night.
A source said that the rescue effort for the older teen would “continue at first light” on Wednesday.

Strong earthquake hits Greek island of Crete
ATHENS, Greece — Greek authorities say an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 5.2 has struck the southern resort island of Crete but no injuries or damage has been reported.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute says the earthquake occurred at 7:40 a.m. local time Wednesday about 23 kilometers west of the island capital of Iraklion.
The fire service and officials on Crete said they received no reports of damage or injuries.
Strong quakes are common in Greece which lies in one of the most seismically active parts of the world. Severe damage or injuries are rare.
