Newly launched rock band Simple Creatures has been added to the lineup of the Leicestershire edition of the annual Download Festival, to be held between June 14 and 16 at Donington Park.

“An evening of Trash-Pop reverie awaits you at @DownloadFest. There will be Creatures. They will be Simple. There will be singing and dancing in a big tent. What more could you possibly want?” tweeted the official account of the duo, consisting of Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low‘s Alex Gaskarth.

Other artists on the lineup include Wonder Years, ROAM, Lost Society, Nova Twins and Graveyard, while the festival will be headlined by rock stars the likes of Slipknot, Def Leppard, Smashing Pumpkins, Halestorm and Beartooth.

Gaskarth celebrated the news by tweeting, “Legit so excited for Download fest with @simplecreatures — first official gig on the books. It’s gonna be wild and weird and I’m so stoked to get this thing in front of you!!”

Meanwhile, the band is gearing up for the release of its first LP, “Strange Love” on March 29. The album is available for pre-order now.
