Woman found stabbed to death at Bronx motel, NYPD says

A 36-year-old woman was found stabbed to death at a Bronx motel early Sunday, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was discovered at the Holiday Motel at 2291 New England Thruway in the Eastchester section of the borough, the department said.

Police said a man was spotted fleeing the scene on foot, but no arrests have been made, cops said.

No further details were currently available.

Two women dead in fire at Upper Manhattan high-rise apartment building

Two women were killed in a fire at an Upper Manhattan high-rise apartment building early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The victims, ages 37 and 73, suffered smoke inhalation from the blaze that broke out just after midnight in a 24th floor apartment at a building on Audubon Avenue near West 178th Street in Washington Heights, police said.

Both women were taken to nearby hospitals, but could not be saved, cops said. Their names were not immediately released.

No other injuries were reported in the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
