Rob Gronkowski retires from NFL
Rob Gronkowski has spiked his last touchdown.
The Patriots tight end is going out a champion, announcing his retirement Sunday after his third Super Bowl championship, the NFL’s favorite party-boy entering what surely will be the most entertaining post-football life there is.
In making “the biggest decision of my life so far,” Gronkowski thanked Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, the Patriots and their fans in his Instagram announcement.
“I will be retiring from the game of football today,” said Gronkowski, who will be 30 in May. “I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010.”
Gronk will finish his career a five-time Pro Bowler with 79 career touchdowns.
