Richard Madden, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Colin Firth have all signed on for Sam Mendes‘ upcoming movie 1917, which will begin filming in just a few days on April 1 in the UK.

According to Deadline, “the film follows two young British soldiers [played by George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman] on a single day at the height of World War I.”

Also joining the cast are Mark Strong, Benedict‘s Sherlock co-star Andrew Scott, and more.

Sam wrote the screenplay and will also direct the movie.

The movie will hit theaters later this year, according to reports.
