Man shot and killed in broad daylight on Long Island

A man was shot and killed in broad daylight on Wednesday in Long Island, cops said.

The gunfire erupted around 3:30 p.m. at Main Street and West Broadway in Port Jefferson, a Suffolk County Police Department spokesman said.

No further details about the killing were immediately released.

A Twitter user posted a photo of the scene and called the shooting an apparent “drive by” but police didn’t release specifics about what transpired.
