Coronavirus in NY: Man linked to Westchester lawyer tests positive for illness

A Manhattan man in his 50s is the latest person to test positive for coronavirus in New York City, bringing the total number of cases in the Big Apple to five, Mayor de Blasio said Friday.

The latest case is associated with Lawrence Garbuz, 50, the midtown lawyer hospitalized in stable condition at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia Medical Center.

“He has mild symptoms,” de Blasio said on WNYC Friday.

The city’s disease detectives are testing the Manhattan man’s family and tracking his past movements, de Blasio added.
