Ravens waive running back Alex Collins after car crash arrest
The Ravens waived running back Alex Collins on Friday afternoon, hours after he was arrested for crashing his car into a tree near the team’s practice facility in Owings Mills, Md.
Charges against the 24-year-old have not yet been made available.
Collins, a 2016 fifth-round pick of Seattle, was released after just one season with the Seahawks, but found success in Baltimore, where he rushed for 973 yards and six touchdowns in 2017. Last season, the starting running back struggled with 3.6 yards per carry — down from 4.6 the season prior — and was placed on injured reserve in December after running for 411 yards in 11 games.
