R. Kelly’s Lawyer Asks For More Time To Provide Details Of Dubai Trip
R. Kelly‘s lawyer has asked a judge for more time to provide details about the embattled R&B star’s request to travel to Dubai for a series of concerts.
Attorney Steve Greenberg suggested Judge Lawrence Flood could be more likely to grant the request if the motion provided a little more detail about the proposed trip.
Kelly is currently prohibited from traveling outside Illinois without court permission as he faces trial on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Last week, Kelly asked the Illinois Cook County Circuit Court for permission to perform a series of concerts in Dubai as he struggles to keep up with his various expenses of paying child support and legal fees.
Kelly is desperate to make up for lost revenue as a result of the cancellation of two U.S tours and the removal of his music from digital streaming services due to alleged sex allegations against him.
“He cannot work, and consequently cannot make a living if he is confined to Illinois, or even the United States,” read a document filed with the court. “Mr. Kelly needs to generate income.”
