Beijing reports 45 new symptomatic COVID cases, 8 new asymptomatic cases for May 6

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Beijing reported 45 new symptomatic COVID-19 cases for May 6, down from 55 cases a day earlier, state television said on Saturday.

China’s capital also recorded 8 asymptomatic cases, versus 17 a day earlier, it said.

CNN looks into the Supreme Court justice who authored draft decision

New York (CNN Business)Politico’s explosive scoop about a draft opinion revealing that the Supreme Court had voted to overturn Roe v. Wade has become the most-trafficked story in the outlet’s 15-year history, a spokesperson for the outlet told CNN on Friday.

The article, written by Josh Gerstein and Alexander Ward, had originally published just after 8:30pm ET Monday evening. The Politico spokesperson said that the story had become the site’s most-viewed article by 9:00am ET on Tuesday.
By Friday afternoon, the story had nearly reached 11 million views, the spokesperson added.

The outlet’s first tweet about the story had more than triple the impressions Politico normally sees an entire month on Twitter, the spokesperson said.

After Politico reported on the draft opinion, Chief Justice John Roberts verified its authenticity and said the court would investigate how it leaked.

Politico’s previous most-trafficked story was about how National Guardsmen were forced to vacate the Capitol after January 6.

Denver sets record temperature for the date with an 89-degree mark.

Denver set a record-high temperature for the date on Saturday when the mercury hit 89 degrees.

The 89-degree reading in Denver topped the previous record high for May 7, which was 87 degrees set in 1989.

With the new record hitting early in the afternoon, Saturday’s temperature could continue to climb, the weather service said. Perhaps a 90-degree reading is in store for Denver.
