Photo shows absurd amounts of salt outside of Gracie Mansion
If New Yorkers are wondering where all the salt is on Monday after the snow storm, they should probably head on over to Gracie Mansion.
Photos captured from an angle above the mayor’s residence on Sunday night revealed how the entire driveway was covered with the stuff — while the surrounding sidewalks and roadways appeared to be totally barren.
City Hall spokesman Eric Phillips said the mayor wasn’t trying to become the salt baron — the salt outside Gracie Mansion had simply not been spread out yet — and that it was also intended for Carl Schurz Park, in which the mansion is located.
“The photo captures the inclined entrance of a large park, likely before the salt was spread out,” Phillips said. “In addition to New York City being the safest big city in America, we believe in fair salt distribution.”
