Pete Townshend Provides Latest Update On New Who Album

The Who‘s lead guitarist and principal songwriter Pete Townshend said the band continues to make progress on its upcoming album.

In a video blog on TheWho.com, Townsend said that by the end of Monday, at least 10 or 12 backing tracks were completed, and that they were “sounding really, really great.”

Townsend also spoke about his bandmate Roger Daltrey, and posted some photos of both of them sitting on a vintage scooter.

“Roger is very positive about the new songs we are working on for the forthcoming album. He has been doing sketch vocals, getting used to the songs and finding his own place, and his own way into the stories,” Townshend said.

“I’m about to listen to more work Roger has been doing in the studio on vocals, and I know he will surprise me and delight me as always. Until Roger sings one of my songs it isn’t really a ‘Who’ song, and the magic is starting to happen,” he added.
