17 Things You Didn’t Know Your Pharmacist Can Do
Many people see pharmacists as the white-coated, behind-the-counter individuals who dispense pills in a bottle. While they do perform that important service, they are also capable of a lot more. Making the most of their various skills is in the best interests of patients.
24/7 Tempo spoke to a pharmacist and reviewed several health care-related sites to compile a list of behind-the-scenes services many pharmacists offer.
Pharmacists are trained experts in medicines and how they work. They often understand the complex composition of medicines better than a general practitioner (GP) because they have spent years studying them. Just like medical doctors, they have specialties, which include cardiology, critical care, infectious disease, oncology, and nutrition, among others.
So next time your pharmacist recommends taking a medication a certain way, you should pay attention. Pharmacists are the primary source of information when it comes to potential side effects and the possibility of risky drug interactions.
The more questions you ask — as well as the more information you provide about your condition — the better your pharmacist will be able to help you. You may not know it, but pharmacists like to be used as a health resource – here are 20 other things pharmacists want you to know.

Sainsbury’s like-for-like sales excluding fuel down 0.7%
J
Sainsbury PLC said Wednesday that like-for-like sales excluding fuel for the 15 weeks ended Jan. 4 fell 0.7% and cautioned over continued uncertain market conditions due to competitive and promotional markets.
The U.K.’s second largest grocer SBRY, +1.94% by market share said like-for-like sales excluding fuel for the third quarter of fiscal 2020 continued the negative trend of the first two quarters and compares with a 1.1% drop for the third quarter of fiscal 2019. This contradicts the projection of sales growth given in September 2019.
Sainsbury didn’t provide any updated guidance regarding fiscal 2020 profit expectations. It said in September that underlying pretax profit, which strips out exceptional and other one-off items, was expected to be in line with market expectations of 632 million pounds ($830.7 million). The company made an underlying pretax profit of GBP635 million for the year ended March 9, 2019.
The company said its strategy for this year is to focus on catalogue diversification and investment in client offer, customer experience, and connected services.

‘Pervert’ Gorka Ripped For ‘Gross’ Joke About Greta Thunberg’s Body
Sebastian Gorka, radio host and former aide to President Donald Trump, is under fire after cracking a joke about young climate activist Greta Thunberg’s body.
During an interview on Gorka’s radio show, guest Andrew Klavan tripped over the teen’s last name.
“Whatever her name. What is her name?” the crime writer said. “Greta Thunberg?”
Gorka then turned that into a crack about her body.
“Thunder thighs, Greta Thunberg,” he replied in a clip posted online by Media Matters:
Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist named Time’s Person of the Year, just turned 17 last week. Critics slammed Gorka for offering up any comment at all about her body:
Many on the right have consistently attacked Thunberg, not simply to challenge her views on climate change but also to spit out deeply personal insults.
Michael Knowles of the Daily Wire last year repeatedly called her “mentally ill” during an appearance on Fox News. The network called the statement “disgraceful” and apologized.
President Donald Trump last month slammed Time for naming her Person of the Year, claiming she has an “anger management problem.” Then his campaign shared an edited image with Trump replacing her on the magazine’s cover.
