Oprah Winfrey makes rare appearance at Paris Fashion Week

Watch out, Paris Fashion Week: Oprah Winfrey has arrived.

The talk show host, 65, made a splash in the front row of Stella McCartney’s show on Monday. Wearing a chic navy dress and sitting next to British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, Winfrey seemed to be the main attraction.

She posed for pictures with other celebrities like Lewis Hamilton, Janelle Monaé, Karlie Kloss and, of course, McCartney herself.

Though Oprah seems to always be at A-list events, she’s not one for Fashion Week appearances; The last time Winfrey showed up in the front row was at a 2005 Chanel show. However, it seems that she made an exception for environmental activist McCartney in an effort to promote the British designer’s newest green initiative.

The newly launched “There She Grows” social media campaign aims to help protect the Leuser Ecosystem, an area of tropical rain forest in Sumatra, Indonesia, by asking people to dedicate a tree and a message to someone, and then nominating another to do the same.

“I’m going to plant an oak because I already have hundreds of oaks in my yard. I’m a tree person,” Winfrey told WWD. “They represent the stability of life, the stillness of life, so I’m going to do one in honor of my mother.”

Kris Jenner, Selma Blair, Gwyneth Paltrow, Justin Timberlake and more stars have already joined Winfrey in aiding McCartney’s efforts.
