Bill Bennett on 'America's Newsroom': Kamala Harris comparing Jan. 6 to 9/11 attacks was an 'abomination'

Bill Bennett slams Kamala Harris’ comparison of Jan. 6 to 9/11 attacks

Former education secretary Dr. Bill Bennett called the comparisons ‘ridiculous’ and ‘ignorant.’

Former Education Secretary Dr. Bill Bennett reacted Thursday on “America’s Newsroom” to Vice President Kamala Harris comparing the January 6 Capitol riot to September 11, 2001, and Pearl Harbor.

HARRIS DESCRIBES JAN. 6 ALONGSIDE PEARL HARBOR, 9/11 AS DATES THAT ‘ECHO THROUGHOUT HISTORY’

Dr. BILL BENNETT: When I heard Kamala Harris first compare January 6 to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, it’s ridiculous, it’s an abomination. It shows ignorance of American history. As ugly as January 6 was it doesn’t in any way rise to the level of those events. All the more reason for teaching history and not critical race theory.

Tesla Recalls Nearly 500K Cars To Fix Rear-View Mirror, Front-trunk Issues

Luxury electric car maker Tesla Inc. (TSLA) has recalled over 475,000 cars in the US to fix technical issues that can potentially increase the risk of accidents.

Tesla has recalled 356,309 vehicles to fix potential rear-view camera issues, which affects 2017-2020 Model 3s. The company will fix a cable that over time may separate after wear and tear, blocking the rear-view camera feed.

Another 119,009 Model S vehicles have been recalled due to issues with the front trunk. The company will fix the front-trunk latch that could result in the hood opening unexpectedly. This recall involves Model S vehicles manufactured between 2014-2021.

The recall nearly equals Tesla’s total global deliveries last year, as the company delivered nearly 500,000 cars in 2020, according to Tesla’s annual report.

In both cases, the reports state that “Tesla is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or deaths” relating to the faults.

The recalls come after the U.S. regulator started a safety investigation into the Tesla “Passenger Play” feature that allows Tesla users to play video games on the cars’ touchscreens when in motion. Tesla said last week that the feature would now only be available when a car is in park after the preliminary evaluation of the play feature was announced by NHTSA.

WD-40 Q1 Profit Down

WD-40 Co. (WDFC) Thursday reported first-quarter profit rose of $18.56 million or $1.34 per share, down from $23.62 million or $1.72 per share last year.

Net sales for the first quarter increased 8% to $134.75 million from $124.56 million last year.

“Our maintenance products delivered solid sales increases in the first quarter including 14 percent growth of WD-40 Multi-Use Product,” said CEO Garry Ridge. “We are pleased with our topline results in the quarter, but we are facing a volatile and challenging environment that is deteriorating our gross margin and causing disruptions to our supply chain.”

Looking forward, the company now expects full year 2022 earnings of $5.24 to $5.38 per share and net sales growth is projected to be between 7 and 12 percent with net sales expected to be between $522 million and $547 million.
