Environmentalists say that the damage to reefs in Cancun, Mexico, where the conference is being held, is a ‘mirror’ that reflects the damage being done to reefs worldwide.

Political, business and environmental leaders from around the globe are gathering in Mexico for the World Ocean Summit. The aim is to come up with ways to use maritime resources sustainably.

But the location of the meeting itself is a cautionary tale of financial gains trumping environmental concerns.
