The former president of France has come out swinging, calling his Libyan accusers ‘assassins, criminals and delinquents’.

France’s former president Nicolas Sarkozy has defended himself after being put under formal investigation for receiving illegal campaign funding.

He’s accused of receiving tens of millions of dollars from Libya’s late leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Sarkozy denies the allegations.
