Naomi Campbell wore Kim Kardashian’s see-through catsuit first
Talk about a copycat.
This week, Kim Kardashian flew to Paris to enjoy the tail end of fashion week, making a stylish splash in back-to-back vintage leopard-print catsuits from the archives of Azzedine Alaïa. But it turns out Naomi Campbell actually wore one of them first.
On Wednesday, Kardashian, 38, grabbed dinner with Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing wearing a fully see-through spotted unitard from the late Alaïa’s fall 1991 collection that featured small, strategically-placed velvet panels over her breasts and a pair of velvet bikini briefs on bottom. That’s the same look the supermodel, 48, originally sported on the catwalk, minus Kim’s black velvet coat, of course.
And it seems the reality star’s sartorial tributes to Alaïa inspired some nostalgia in Campbell, who was close friends with the creative director. Campbell posted a throwback photo of herself on Instagram wearing a leopard-print bodysuit, garters and a matching coat from the same fall 1991 runway show and in the same print as the first bodysuit Kim wore on Tuesday.
Clearly, chic minds think alike.
