Morrissey Announces Seven-Show Broadway Residency
Former Smiths frontman Morrissey has announced a seven-night residency at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater on Broadway between May 2 and 11.
The gig has been described as an “intimate yet exciting exploration of Morrissey’s expansive career from his early days to his upcoming new record.”
The singer is gearing up to perform “the songs that made you cry and the songs that saved your life” at his first Broadway shows in the run-up to the release of his forthcoming covers album, California Son, on May 24th.
Morrissey has collaborated with a string of artists on the new album, including Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear and Petra Haden.
The collection follows the singer’s 2017’s album, Low in High School, which got a deluxe edition release in December of 2018.
