Metallica’s WorldWired Tour Crosses $150 Million
Metallica‘s WorldWired Tour has grossed over $150 million since launching in 2016, according to Billboard.
According to the report, Metallica grossed $2.2 million after restarting their North American leg on January 18 at Tulsa’s BOK Center.
The band then generated $2.4 million at Raleigh’s PNC Arena on January 28 and $2.5 million at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on February 1.
The limited 2019 leg has grossed $14.4 million and sold 123,792 tickets so far.
The band has sold 1,554,470 tickets in total, with the Raleigh, N.C., show posting the best attendance numbers, selling 19,361 tickets.
Metallica embarked on the WorldWired Tour in support of their tenth studio album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, which was released on November 18, 2016. It is also their first worldwide tour after the World Magnetic Tour six years earlier. The tour started on October 26, 2016 in Puerto Rico.
The band has seven more U.S. dates on the books before a 25-city European leg this summer.
