Dramatic photographs show the giant flames which have transformed the night's sky orange.

Firefighters are currently talking the blaze near Diggle, Greater Manchester.

Reports suggest that the fire is 200m x 200m big – almost the size of two football pitches.

Two local fire crews have been at the scene since the fire started at around 7.30pm.

Eyewitnesses described the "apocalyptic scene" and said they could "feel the heat through the windscreen".
