Maserati driver charged after serious collision in Hamilton

A 35-year-old man is facing charges, in connection with a serious weekend crash in Hamilton.

Hamilton police say shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, a black 2008 Maserati was travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Queenston Road East near Kenora Avenue, when it struck a 2007 Mercedes Benz SUV, causing the Maserati to leave the road and collide with two hydro poles.

That’s when police say the driver of the Maserati fled the area on foot leaving his three injured passengers behind.

They were treated for various broken bones, while the driver of the Mercedes remained on scene and provided a statement to police.

The investigation led to the arrest of the accused for dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain on the scene of a collision.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
