Man Utd in huge blow with Matic set for month out with injury picked up in training
The Serbian midfielder is understood to have suffered the unknown problem in training yesterday morning.
He is not in the Red Devils squad that will take on bitter rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The 30-year-old will have a scan on the injury next week when the inflammation and swelling has eased.
It is thought after an initial assessment he will be out for a month, according to ESPN.
It would be a huge blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Matic rolling back the years in recent months.
United are also facing a mini injury crisis with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial facing a fitness battle.
The England winger has managed to recover to make the bench to face the Reds at Old Trafford.
But his French counterpart could not even make the matchday squad as United refuse to risk him.
