Man charged with murdering French woman found buried in shallow grave in London garden

A man has been charged with the murder of a French woman found buried in a shallow grave in a London garden.

Laureline Garcia-Bertaux, 34, failed to show for work on 5 March and was reported missing.

Her body was found in the back garden of her home in Darell Road, Kew, west London, and a post-mortem showed she had been strangled.

Kirill Belorusov, 32, was arrested last week in Tallinn, the capital of his home country of Estonia.

He was escorted back to Britain by UK police and charged with murder. He will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Ms Garcia-Bertaux had been living in Kew since Apil and was described as “a wonderfully creative, caring and charismatic woman”.

She worked as a personal assistant at a public relations firm and was involved in film production, working on a short film with Dame Joan Collins in 2018.
