Luke Bryan’s adopted pup captured his family’s heart in a matter of days, because as we all know dogs are a man’s best friend. Unfortunately, the family didn’t have much time with their newest addition.

Nearly two weeks after adopting an 18-year-old rescue named Poochie, the country music star’s wife took to Instagram to share the devastating news that the Aussie mix went to doggy heaven. 

“My heart is sad but full to post this..our sweet Prince Poochie has passed away,” Caroline Bryan wrote on Instagram Wednesday. “He lived 18 years and was loved by so many people.”

Bryan shared a series of pictures of the beloved canine from their brief time together, including a video of Poochie snoring, which she said the kids “especially loved.”
