Lizzo recreates Anchorman jazz flute scene for Will Ferrell challenge
Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy accepted a jazz flute challenge from Lizzo and got burnt.
Back in November, Lizzo, the rapper/singer/songwriter/flutist born Melissa Jefferson, posed a jazz flute battle to the mustachioed newsman. He accepted with a few improvised flourishes in promotion of his iHeartRadio podcast. This week, Lizzo responded by bringing the whole house down with a recreation of the jazz flute scene from Anchorman.
Lizzo brought the “Juice” — the name of her new song — to the bit, which sees her so totally unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight of a jazz club stage with Este Haim watching. It definitely also features her walking over tables, popping underneath bathroom stalls for a quick melodic run, slurping up a cocktail with Sasha Flute (the name of her instrument), and shooting out fire on the other end.
The main difference is the prevalence of “b—-,” as in, “we’re in this b—-, let’s go!”
