Veteran big man Andre Drummond to sign with Lakers, agent says

Veteran center Andre Drummond plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers after he clears waivers on Sunday, his agent, Jeff Schwartz told ESPN.

The Lakers need frontcourt help, especially with Anthony Davis sidelined because of an injury. LeBron James is also out with an injury.

Drummond reached a buyout agreement with Cleveland once the Cavaliers did not find a trade for him before Thursday's trade deadline expired.

Cleveland hadn't played Drummond since Feb. 12 because he wasn't part of the team's future, especially after it acquired Jarrett Allen from Brooklyn. But the two-time All-Star posted solid stats in 25 games: 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

Top seed Gonzaga crushes Creighton, advances to fifth men’s Elite Eight

Three down and three to go for unbeaten Gonzaga.

The No. 1-seeded Bulldogs advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA men's basketball tournament with a 83-65 defeat of No. 5 seed Creighton.

Drew Timme scored a team-high 22 points for Gonzaga, which will face the winner of the Oregon-Southern California game later Sunday.

A victory Tuesday against either the Ducks or Trojans would send the Bulldogs to their second Final Four in four tournaments and move them two wins from becoming the first unbeaten national champion since Indiana in 1976.

The last five unbeatens to enter the tournament since that Hoosiers team have fallen short of winning the title.

Rain postpones NASCAR dirt races at Bristol Motor Speedway until Monday

Dirt racing at Bristol Motor Speedway will have to wait another day.

NASCAR has postponed both the Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series events until Monday afternoon. The Truck Series will get on track first at noon ET (Fox Sports 1), and the Cup Series race is set for 4 p.m. ET (Fox).

“Due to overnight weather and forecast, the Sullivan County flood warnings, and safety concerns, NASCAR has postponed all of Sunday’s on-track activity,” officials announced.

Storms also washed away all of Saturday’s activity, although the trucks did get on the track in Tennessee to start their first heat race. However, visibility issues because of mud halted the race, and then it began raining.

Lindsey Graham Says He Could Shoot Gangs With His AR-15, Twitter Critics Go Ballistic

In the event of a natural disaster in South Carolina, don’t necessarily expect to see Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) helping dig survivors out of rubble. The senator indicated Sunday that he’d instead be at home with his AR-15, ready to pick off marauding gangs presumably at least partly made up of his own constituents.

“I own an AR-15,” Graham told Chris Wallace on Fox News. “If there’s a natural disaster in South Carolina where the cops can’t protect my neighborhood, my house will be the last one that the gang will come to, because I can defend myself.”

Graham mentioned his home protection plans in response to Wallace’s question about the gun control debate that’s taking place after recent mass shootings in the U.S. The South Carolina Republican is opposed to banning assault rifles.

Many critics on Twitter were appalled that a U.S. senator has such a bleak view of his constituents. Some who had experienced a natural disaster said they saw no gangs, or even police, in the aftermath — only neighbors helping each other. Others pointed out that lax U.S. gun laws would mean potential gangs showing up at Graham’s house would likely be armed themselves.
