Lee Radziwill’s funeral date set
A funeral for late fashion icon Lee Radziwill will be held on Monday morning at an Upper East Side church, grieving friends of the late socialite told Page Six.
Jackie Kennedy’s younger sister died at 85, Feb. 15.
A pal told us, “It’s a funeral service, not a memorial. They won’t be doing anything else as she was so private and elegant.”
Expected among the mourners are designers Carolina Herrera and Marc Jacobs, photographer Peter Beard, director Sofia Coppola, fashion insider Hamilton South, and family members including Lee’s daughter Tina.
Family and friends are upset, we hear, by the recent stream of stories about her relationship with Jackie.
Said an insider, “She talked about her sister very fondly, especially towards the end. People like to make it a big rivalry. They could be competitive, like all siblings can be. But this went too far for the liking of her family.”
A friend told us of Radziwill’s death, “It just came as a shock as she was so strong and resilient for so long. We all just hoped she would be with us forever. She had some health setbacks recently, including hip issues, that slowed her down slightly, but she was still as sharp as a tack.”
And, “She read up on everything, she was so attuned to everything, so smart and savvy. Just physically, she was getting older.”
