Trump And Biden’s Monday Schedules Are Very, Very Different
President Donald Trump and President-elect Joe Biden have released their public schedules for Monday, which is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a national holiday.
And the two are planning to mark the day very differently.
Trump’s schedule says ― as it has for weeks ― that he “will work from early in the morning until late in the evening. He will make many calls and have many meetings.”
Biden’s schedule, on the other hand, notes Monday is a National Day of Service ― and as a result, the president-elect will be volunteering at the hunger-relief charity Philabundance in Philadelphia.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins placed them side-by-side for comparison:
Trump has largely abandoned the typical role of the president since losing the election in November. His public events have mostly been grievance sessions where he’s aired false claims and echoed debunked conspiracy theories about the election results.
Those events culminated in his appearance at a Jan. 6 rally in which Trump supporters then attacked the U.S. Capitol.
He has said little publicly since.
Biden has been building out his administration and unveiling his agenda, including a plan to vaccinate 100 million Americans for COVID-19 in the first 100 days, a proposed $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package and a host of executive actions that would begin on Wednesday immediately after the inauguration.
WEF Says Xi, Macron and Modi to Speak at Virtual Davos Forum
The World Economic Forum said Chinese President Xi Jinping and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron will be among the speakers at the online event it is holding this month instead of its usual forum in the Swiss ski resort of Davos.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus have also been invited, due to be held from Jan. 25 to Jan. 29. The chief executives of more than 500 companies are also joining in the discussion of topics including fair economic and social systems and the climate crisis, the Geneva-based organization said.
Economic growth needs to be “more resilient, more inclusive and more sustainable,” Founder Klaus Schwab said at an online briefing on Monday.
The WEF’s annual meeting, typically held each January in the mountain resort, features world leaders, central bankers, corporate executives as well as celebrities and billionaires. The in-person event has been postponed due to the pandemic and is now scheduled to take place in Singapore in May.

Joe Biden sworn in as 46th president, says 'democracy has prevailed' in inaugural address
Fox News Go
Joe Biden was sworn in as 46th president of the United States on Wednesday.
Biden took the oath of office, with his hand on his family Bible. He was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
Standing beside him was first lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden and daughter Ashley Biden.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor administered the oath of office for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“This is America’s day. This is democracy’s day,” Biden said. “America has been tested anew, and America has risen tot he challenge.”
“Today we celebrate the triumph — not of a candidate — but a cause — democracy,” he said. “The will of the people has been heard.
“Democracy is precious, democracy is fragile,” he said. “And at this hour my friends, democracy has prevailed.”
The theme of Biden’s inauguration is “America United,” despite deep divisions plaguing the nation, and is focused on a “new national journey” that the incoming Biden administration says will “restore the soul of America” and bring the country together.
