European Economics Preview: Germany Industrial Output, Foreign Trade Data Due
Industrial production and foreign trade from Germany and house prices from the UK are due on Friday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.
At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is scheduled to publish Germany’s industrial output and foreign trade figures. Economists forecast industrial output to grow 1.5 percent month-on-month, reversing a 2.5 percent fall in January.
Germany’s exports are forecast to gain 1 percent on month and imports to rise 2.4 percent in February.
In the meantime, Statistics Norway releases consumer and producer prices for March. Inflation is expected to rise 3.5 percent annually, following a 3.3 percent rise in February.
At 2.45 am ET, France’s statistical office Insee releases industrial production for February. Economists forecast output to gain 0.5 percent on month, slower than the 3.3 percent increase in January.
At 3.00 am ET, Spain’s INE is scheduled to issue industrial production for February. Output is seen falling 1.3 percent annually, following a 2.2 percent drop in January.
In the meantime, consumer prices and retail sales are due from Hungary. Inflation is seen rising to 3.7 percent in March from 3.1 percent in February.
At 3.30 am ET, UK Halifax house prices data is due for March.
At 4.00 am ET, Italy’s Istat publishes retail sales for February. Sales had decreased 3 percent on month in January.

Biden creates commission to study potential Supreme Court expansion
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday will order the creation of a bipartisan commission to study potential reforms to the U.S. Supreme Court, the White House said, including whether to expand the number of justices, a key goal of progressive Democrats.
In a statement, the White House said the commission would have 180-days to report its findings.
Deutsche Post Q1 Preliminary Group EBIT Rises; Lifts FY Outlook
Deutsche Post AG reported that its preliminary group EBIT for the first-quarter 2021 was 1.9 billion euros compared to 592 million euros in the previous year. The previous year’s result included a one-time effect of negative 234 million euros in the context of StreetScooter.
The company now expects group EBIT for 2021 to be ‘significantly above’ 5.6 billion euros, compared to the prior outlook of more than 5.6 billion euros.
Full year 2021 Free Cash Flow is now expected to be ‘significantly above’ 2.3 billion euros compared to the previous outlook of around 2.3 billion euros.

He’s won two Gemini Awards for his performance in HBO Canada’s The Line as well as the CBC miniseries, Guns.
His film credits include Jigsaw, the eighth installment in the Saw film series, and the Lionsgate action comedy, Lucky Day.

Jessie Henderson Tapped As Feature Executive At Apple Studios
Film and television development executive Jessie Henderson is joining Apple Studios as a feature executive, reporting to Apple Original Films’ Matt Dentler, head of features. Henderson, who joins the company next week, will be part of the growing Apple Original Films team based in Los Angeles, which includes feature executive Lejo Pet, who recently joined Apple from Paramount Pictures.
Previously, Henderson was EVP, Original Feature Films for HBO Max, where she headed up the development of original films. Prior to her role at HBO Max, Henderson formed and served as co-president of Feigco Entertainment alongside Paul Feig. While at Feigco, she produced film and television projects that included Spy, A Simple Favor, Someone Great, the all-female Ghostbusters and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.
Before that, Henderson was an executive at Chernin Entertainment where she co-produced The Heat, after starting her career at Universal.
