It’s a tsunami of ice.

Strong winds blew chunks of ice onto a roadway in Ontario, Canada, near the border with New York, video of the scene shows.

The chunks of ice — some the size of boulders — were blown over the retaining wall along the Niagara River Parkway in Fort Erie on Sunday, according to video posted by the Niagara Parks Police.

The parks agency said that the ice formed from strong winds blowing ice over the retaining wall from the lake.

“An ice tsunami forms when strong winds push the ice from the water’s surface onto land,” ABC7 Meteorologist Mike Nicco said.

The Niagara parkway was temporarily closed to drivers.

Temperatures in the area are not expected to hit the freezing mark all week, according to a local weather forecast.
