Here’s why Reba McEntire lost out on Kathy Bates’ iconic ‘Titanic’ role
Add Reba McEntire to the list of people who missed out on major roles in the 1997 film “Titanic.”
During a Thursday appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” the actress revealed she had to turn down the role of Molly Brown when the movie shoot got postponed and wound up conflicting with previously scheduled tour dates. The part later went to Kathy Bates.
“We were on tour, and I had a lot of people on the payroll,” she explained. “We had these three months already scheduled to do the movie, and then (the movie) got behind on scheduling and said, ‘No, we’re going to have to move it,’ so we couldn’t reschedule all the arenas and everything.”
